Your comprehensive guide to your page's theme.

In this guide we will walk through page theme, how-to's, best practices and all the ways to make your site pop!

A big part of your brand and how customers view your site is through your brand and theming. For example, lets look at this campground,

With the photos and content, it looks pretty good. But with a few tweaks to the theme and you can get it looking like this:

In order to give your site the glow up it deserves you can follow these proven steps:

  1. First, Upload your logo in Campground Details if you haven't already. This will save you a ton of time and effort later on.
  2. Then find a font that suits your brand. Often it can be helpful to search externally for a google font that best represents the personality of your brand. There are a few great tools and a few that we use at BlockCMS include Font Sensei and Font Forge.

  3. Now pick some colors. We recommend doing this on a computer in Google Chrome or a similar browser so you can use the color picker tools. That way you can select some colors right from your logo. Unfortunately the color picker tools are not compatible in Safari. If you get the alert that your colors aren't ADA compliant then we recommend reworking them. The compliance is based on the contrast of the colors so try making the brighter color brighter or the dark color darker, there are many ways to change the contrast to get your color combination ADA compliant and looking great!
  4. After setting your colors pick a background color. We recommend a light color but have a few tricks to get you started. The first trick is to select another color from the logo and brighten it up. This adds a nice hue to the background of the page that is more visually appealing than just a white background. One other trick is to simply select your dark or bright color and move the color slider until you're happy with the shade or hue.
  5. Finally, preview your website and make tweaks. The most important step in the whole process is to preview and make revisions. Odds are you won't be 100% content on the first go through, but with some adjustments and practice you're sure to get a website tailored to your liking!
